Soy profesional de la historia egresada de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, USAC, en mi país. Llegué a Estados Unidos con visa de turista y me quedé.
He contribuido, durante mi estadía, con mis conocimientos profesionales, a la educación de varios niños de distintas descendencias que hoy son ciudadanos estadounidenses (ingleses, checos, etc).
Cuido a Carlitos de tres años, le enseño el idioma español, lo cuido, soy su mamá postiza. Mi profesión me ha dado la oportunidad de "exigir cosas" que a otros no les permitirían.
Algunos inmigrantes sufren de explotaciones, malos tratos, vejámenes, hasta les pegan, ganan bajos sueldos. Todo por la necesidad de una vida mejor, a manos de rusos, orientales, ingleses, inclusive por los mismos latinos que tienen un poco de plata.
Los gringos, son un poco más conscientes, (no todos) pero si la mayoría. Vivo en un lugar de lujo, con buena comida, un pequeño apartamento (que me costaría US$1.500 de renta si lo pagara), teléfono, tv, vía satélite, internet (lo pedí cuando me contrataron) horno de micro, refri, etc, además cuando mi familia me visita ellos permiten que se hospeden conmigo, inclusive me ofrecen pagar el ticket de avión, viajes con ellos, en general me tratan bien, buenísimo.
Trabajando de niñera gano más que en mi país, trabajando como profesional. Y esa es mi vida en Estados Unidos. Solamente les estoy cobrando un poquito de lo que ellos nos deben a los latinos por su política exterior. Lejos de mi familia, pero con la oportunidad de verlos acá, darles lo que allá no puedo, y posibilidades de que vivan conmigo.
